Fayette – Gladys I. Bamford, 87, a resident of Crash Road in Livermore, died Sunday, May 7, at her daughters’ home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Fayette on April 27, 1919, the daughter of James H. and Lila (Flagg) Williamson. She attended the schools of Chesterville and Farmington.

On March 27, 1937, she married Roscoe Bamford in Portsmouth, N.H. He passed away on Oct. 5, 1999. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who cherished her time with her family and church, the corner stones of her life. She was a longtime member of the Wayside Bible Baptist Church in Livermore and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Joyce and Richard Barker of New Hampshire and Fay and Robert Barker of Fayette; two sons and their wives, Roy and Brenda Bamford of Livermore and Wallace James and Wanda Bamford of Alabama; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Milford Williamson of LaBelle, Fla.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roscoe A. Bamford in 1999; and a half-sister, Ila Clark of New Hampshire in 1994.
