The greatest books you ever read as kids

Are remembered and told themselves through years,

Of looking out of eyes and hearts with tears,

And invented to trolls from which you hid.

Increasing in my time, I think that I

Should find my inner child so I’m not late

And learn that I sealed myself with sad fate

To stop one from wishing they could just die.

All I need is a brief look in the glass

So I can trace soft lines drawn on my face

And appraise all the best things from my past

Not excluding me finishing Life’s race.

The pillows of time are beneath my head,

I reach for the greatest books I once read.
