AUGUSTA – A Republican plan to pay for transportation improvements with surplus state revenue would not exceed $60 million. Current estimates of the surplus range from $45 million to $60 million, with two months left in the fiscal year. If the surplus amounts to more than $60 million, the additional money would not be used for transportation. A story on the plan was published on A3 of Friday’s edition.
