PORTLAND (AP) – David Bacani knocked a pair of RBI doubles as the Portland Sea Dogs snapped their six-game losing streak by beating the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 5-2 Friday in the Eastern League.

David Smith homered in New Hampshire’s fourth straight loss.

Smith’s solo blast over the left-field wall plus doubles by Carlo Cota and Curtis Thigpen were the key hits as the Fisher Cats (14-24) scored runs in the second and third innings.

Doubles by Bacani and Tyler Minges sparked Portland’s three-run rally in the third.

Bacani’s second double of the evening sent the Sea Dogs (20-17) ahead 4-2 in the fourth and Jeremy West’s RBI double made it 5-2 in the eighth.

Portland starter Chris Smith (3-3) collected the win while Edgar Martinez notched his fourth save. New Hampshire starter Davis Romero (4-3) took the loss.
