LEWISTON – William J. Horn, an administrator in the Lewiston School Department, is a Democratic candidate for county commissioner for Lewiston.

Horn has more than 20 years as a school administrator working with the Lewiston and Auburn school departments. He served a term on the Lewiston Finance Committee, is serving on the Lewiston Planning Board and is an appointed school board member for the Gov. Baxter School for the Deaf. Horn is also a member of the Maine Principals’ Association and has served on its finance and retirement committees.

As a resident of Lewiston, Horn believes civic duty is a way of giving back to the community, and as a part of this philosophy, he plans to donate his yearly stipend as county commissioner to organizations that serve Lewiston residents: The Franco-American Heritage Center at St. Mary’s, St. Martin De Porres Residence, Lewiston/Auburn Veterans Organization and the Lewiston Public Library.

Horn is committed to serving as county commissioner for Lewiston and plans to develop an increased awareness about county government and the impact it has on the city.
