WEST PARIS – Martha V. Rand, 84, of South Paris and formerly of Portland, died Friday evening, May 19, at Ledgeview Living Center.
She was born in Princeton, Ky., on June 30, 1921, the daughter of Garland and Martha McConnell Quisenberry. She graduated from Butler High School in the Class of 1939.
In her early years, Martha worked at Milliken-Tomlinson Co. in the office, and her last employment was with the Cumberland School Department, working as a baker in the kitchen.
She was a member of Cornerstone Chapter 193 Order of the Eastern Star.
On Nov. 10, 1944, she married Fred Rand, who predeceased her on Dec. 12, 2005.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Sam Ray of South Paris; a granddaughter, Amanda “Mandy” Ray of South Paris; and a grandson, Thomas “TJ” Ray of South Paris.
