July 4 parade

FARMINGTON – The July 4 parade in Farmington is weeks away, but anyone wishing to participate in the Farmington Rotary Club annual event is welcome to start making plans to join the fun.

There will be eight categories this year with cash prizes for the top three winners in each class. They are military, agriculture, individuals, families and groups, business, antique cars, and new this year, antique tractors. The theme is “Let Freedom Ring.”

Once again, The Pierce House on Main Street will offer a post-parade free concert featuring the Centennial Brass Band that perform original band music and serve lemonade and cookies. On the next lawn, Henderson Memorial Baptist Church will give away hot dogs with donations accepted for the area Ecumenical Heating Fund.
