LEWISTON – Frances B. Brown, 75, of 1201 Main St., Bowdoin, went to heaven with the Lord on May 24.

She was born in Durham on May 16, 1931, the daughter of Ermund (Spud) Bowie and Wilma Gurney Bowie. She was the wife of the late Reginald B. Brown and the companion of Donald Leonard. She attended school in Durham and was a graduate of Edward Little High School. She worked at Brigg’s Insurance Co., EE Taylor and retired from L.L. Bean in 1993.

She was a lifetime member of the First Congregational Church of Durham UCC, Ladies Guild, Lisbon Area Christian Outreach, Eureka Grange, Androscoggin/Casco O.E.S., president of the Sawyer Cemetery Association, Durham Historical Society, Durham Eureka Community Center, AM Vets Post 13 Auxiliary and the Durham Diva’s Red Hatters.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Larrabee and her husband, Clifton Sr., of Durham, Rachel Lacasse and her husband, Michael Sr., of Durham and Rebecca Cyr and her husband, Allen, of Bowdoin; six grandchildren, Susan Pratt and her husband, Dennis, Clifton Larrabee Jr. and his wife, Aimee, Michael Lacasse Jr, and his wife, Kira, Nathan Lacasse and his wife, Rebecca, Megan Cyr and Anthony Cyr; her mother, Wilma Bowie of Durham; four brothers, Paul Bowie and his wife, Linda, of Durham, Willard Bowie and his wife, Sandra, of Durham, Roland Bowie and his wife, Beverly, of Freeport and Sindey Bowie and his companion, Kathy, of Mechanic Falls; two sisters, Kathy Lowe and her husband, Peter, of Durham and Sharon Huntley and her husband, Glen, of Hebron.

She was predeceased by her father, Ermund Bowie; one sister, Beverly Spaulding; and two brothers, Lawrence Bowie and Arnold Bowie.
