AUBURN – A youth fishing derby is set for Saturday, June 3 from 8-11 a.m. at the Lake Auburn outlet (Municipal Beach). Eligible are youngsters ages 5-17. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. There is no entry fee. The derby will start at 8:00.
Sponsoring the event are the Auburn Parks and Recreation Department, Androscoggin Bassmasters and Auburn Wal-Mart.
There will be two divisions, ages 5-11 and 12-17. Trophies will be presented for the largest fish, greatest total weight and greatest total length in each division. In addition there will be trophies for the first and last fish caught.
A consession stand will be available, proceeds to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.
