MERRIMACK, N.H. – Aline L. (Gagne) Caron, 66, of Manchester, N.H., died May 31 at the Merrimack Community Hospice House after a courageous one year battle with lung and brain cancer.
She was born on Jan. 2, 1940, in Lewiston, the daughter of Alfred and Irene (Champagne) Gagne. She graduated from Lewiston High School.
On Feb. 16, 1963, she married her best friend, Richard O. Caron in Lewiston.
She worked at International Silver in Connecticut, then after moving back to Maine, she worked at Jordan Marsh in South Portland, retiring in the late 1980s. She was also employed as a cashier at Kmart.
She and Richard moved to Rochester, N.H., in 1993, where she began to volunteer in the activities department at Rochester Manor. She volunteered there until becoming ill in February 2005, then moving to Manchester, N.H.
She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Manchester.
Members of her family include her husband and best friend of 43 years, Richard O. Caron, of Manchester; a son and wife, Tom and Robin Caron of West Baldwin; two daughters, Joline Caron of Belmont, N.H., and Moe and Irene (Caron) Montminy Jr., of Londonderry, N.H.; four grandchildren, Ben, Chris and Zach Caron of West Baldwin and Michael Montminy of Londonderry, N.H.; two brothers, Ray Gagne of Auburn and Roger Gagne of Lewiston; two sisters and husbands, Yvette and Paul LaChapelle of Lewiston and Rose and John Rogalla of Marseilles, Ill.; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; she also leaves a very close personal family friend, Misty Partridge of New Durham, N,H.
She was predeceased by many family members.
