Dear Sun Spots: I need to rent a fold-a-way bed, single couch or cot for a temporary guest. Also, where might I find a craft store that sells Native American craft supplies such as a hole puncher for leather, round metal coin-sized hanging and more? – No Name, No Town.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, regarding your first question, you might like to check a camping store where you might find a camping bed that would work for your guest.

Regarding your second question on Native American craft supplies, Sun Spots spoke with Spirit of the Wolf, organizer of the Spirit of the Wolf: Pow-Wow and Gathering in Leeds, who says he is one of many here in Maine who carry Native American craft items as well as completed craft items. He recommends you attend the upcoming Pow Wow and Gathering being held July 29 and 30 at the Riverbend Campground, Route 106 in Leeds. There you will find an array of craft items and supplies. It is also an opportunity to touch base with other crafters, Spirit of the Wolf says. The event is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days with a grand entry in Native American regalia, at noon. Also there’s auction to benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation from 11 a.m. to noon and the Pow Wow includes family oriented entertainment: dancing, drums, food and more. Bring lawn chairs. The event is held on the riverbank in what Spirit of the Wolf describes as a lovely setting.

For more information consider contacting Spirit of the Wolf via phone at (207) 546- 2401. But please note he is frequently on the road and it may be some time before he has a chance to respond to your inquiry. Consider writing to him via e-mail for a speedier response at rickb@panax.com. He also recommends you check out www.wanderingbull.com, based in Massachusetts and which lists Native American pow wows by month and state and also carries craft supplies. They can also be reached at 800-430-2855, P.O. Box 496, Carver, MA 02330.

Other upcoming pow wows include:

• July 15-16, Ghostbear Lodge 7th annual Pow Wow, Route 196, High School, Lisbon Falls. FMI e-mail grazingbin@yahoo.com

• Aug. 12-13 Gray Maine Wildlife Park, second annual Pow Wow, (207) 324-9297.

• Aug. 1-20 Morning Star 7th annual Intertribal Pow Wow, Litchfield Fairgrounds, Plains Road, Litchfield, (207) 737-4532.

Dear Sun Spots: You do a great service with your informative section. I have moved here from Florida and was looking for half and full mannequins to dress up with Red Hat clothing for display. These are normally used in clothing stores. Do you know of any clothing stores that have closed down or closing who might have these items? Thanks for you help and to others out there who may be able to help me. Please contact me, Clem Clements, at (207) 784-7748. – Clem Clements, Lewiston.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots would encourage you to contact Dan Poulin at Orphan Annies who frequently has those hard to find items. You can reach him at 96 Court St., Auburn, 782-0638.
