My thanks to the Sun Journal for sharing with the public the developing problem with Sam’s Landing here in Otisfield.

After some of us became aware of the situation, an ad hoc committee was formed by the selectmen to look into it. The impression I was left with was that an informational meeting with opportunity for questions and answers was to take place in town before anything more was done. I hear that is not going to happen.

The selectmen seem to have created the problem, and they now appear to want to deal with it as an item at their regular meeting on June 6 where there will be no public discussion.

We already have public boat launching areas at three of the four local bodies of water. Why one on small Saturday Pond?
