LEWISTON – Walter K. Wilkinson, 78, of Poland, passed away Sunday morning, June 4, after a short stay at d’Youville Pavilion.
Walter was born in Lewiston on June 7, 1927, a son of the late William and Ruth (Libby) Wilkinson. He was educated in local schools.
Walter married the former Janet Roux on May 7, 1966, and together they raised their two daughters. He worked for many years as a master electrician for the IBEW Local 567, Wilkinson Electric and after retiring for Home Depot in the electrical department.
Walter was a member of the Tyrian Lodge in Mechanic Falls, the Kora Shrine Temple and a past member of The Square and Compass Club. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, home-improvement projects, hunting, camping and auto racing.
He leaves his wife of 40 years, Janet Wilkinson of Poland; two daughters, Cindy Brousseau and husband, Jim, of Poland and Wendy Wilkinson and her fianc, Chris Ouellette, of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Paige, Morgan and Mason Brousseau, all of Poland; his stepmother, Thurma Mason of Deltona, Fla.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Walter K. Jr.; and two brothers, Harold and Richard.
