I read with interest the May 28 editorial titled “New independence for western Maine.”
SAD 58 is to be commended for its innovative response to the energy crisis. It is, however, not unique in its approach.
SAD 52, comprised of the towns of Leeds, Greene and Turner, installed a wood chip boiler when it renovated Leavitt Area High School, and for more than five years has used a wood chip boiler to provide the vast majority of the school’s heating needs during the winter months.
