RUMFORD – Estella H. Glover, 89, died Wednesday, June 7, at her residence on Hancock Street.

She was born in Canton, on Nov. 28, 1916, a daughter of Alvin G. and Oda (Glover) Goddard and attended Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1934.

She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Cozy Inn Nursing Home, until her retirement in 1978. She was then an active volunteer in the community.

She was a member of the Robert Shand Post 1641, V.F.W. Auxiliary, the Greater Dixfield Senior Citizens, the Rumford Falls Aerie 1248, F.O.E. Auxiliary and the Rumford Point Congregational Church. She was also a former member of the Pythian Sisters.

She was married in Bryant Pond to the late John Howe, who died in 1971, and was later married in Oquossoc, Aug. 30, 1975, to the late Lewis Glover, who died May 1, 1984.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Wright and husband, Edwin, of Plaistow, N.H. and Dorothy Cushman of Bryant Pond; three grandchildren, Greg Cushman and wife, Kimberly, of South Paris, Matthew Cushman and wife, Nancy, of Bryant Pond and Kristen Inman and husband, Hal, of Windham; two stepgrandchildren, Timothy Wright of Lancaster, Calif. and Dr. Erinn Wright of Bridgton; five great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Sylvia Goddard of Mechanic Falls.

She was predeceased by a son, John Howe on May 21.
