LIVERMORE – Voters will go to the polls from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, to elect two selectpersons, a treasurer, and two school board members.

Grace Jacques, serving since 1995, is running for another three-year term as selectperson. Seeking another two-year term as selectperson is Brenda Merrill. She has been on the board since 2002.

Kurt Schaub is seeking re-election to a two-year term as treasurer, a post he’s held since 2000.

Residents will also see Catherine Ouellette’s name for a three-year term on the school board. She has been a member of the board for the past three years.

Cynthia Young is running for another three-year term on the school board.

All of these positions are unopposed.

On Thursday, June 15, residents will meet at the Brettuns Community Building in Livermore to vote on 52 articles, including one to accept a comprehensive planning grant from the Community Planning & Investment Program of the Maine State Planning Office.

“As with most grants, it is based on the condition that the town appropriate funds,” Administrative Assistant Kurt Schaub said. Voters will be asked to contribute $7,006 to receive a grant of $21,230.

“Acceptance of this grant is most critical to Livermore and will allow the town to decide the shape of its future,” Schaub said.
