LEWISTON – Tonight’s Lewiston High School graduation will be held in the school gymnasium because rain has left the athletic field soggy with ponds of water.
That means that seating is limited, said Assistant Principal Paul Amnott. Each graduate has been given six tickets. Only people with tickets will be admitted to the gymnasium.
People without tickets can watch the graduation on closed-circuit television in overflow rooms, Amnott said. Screens will be set up in the multipurpose room and the cafeteria.
The keynote speaker is Lewiston High School government teacher Michael Beaulieu. A title for his speech wasn’t known Thursday because Beaulieu is keeping his talk a surprise, said administrative assistant Carol Smith. “It’ll be wonderful. The kids love him.”
The graduation begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 5:45.
