LEWISTON – Murielle T. Bernier, 81, of Sabattus, passed away Thursday, June 8, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center after a long-term illness surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Lewiston on Nov. 12, 1924, she was the daughter of Polydore and Amanda (Berube) Pelletier. She was a graduate of Lewiston High School and attended Bliss College.
She married Lionel D. Bernier on Feb. 15, 1947, at Holy Family Church. She was a homemaker who focused on raising her children and grandchildren. She was very proud of all their accomplishments.
She was an avid reader and family historian. A quiet, caring woman, her family always came first.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years; two sons and two daughters, their children and spouses, Roger Bernier of Cincinnati, Ohio, Louise (Bernier) Henault and Paul Henault of Greene, Michael Bernier and partner, Joseph Cabush, of Kensington, Md., Lisa Bernier of Wellington, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Scott Bernier, Jennifer Bernier, David Henault, Amanda (Henault) Rioux, John Hunt IV, Joshua Hunt, Ashley Hunt, and Zachary Bernier; two sisters, Sister Irene Pelletier of Waterville and Anita (Pelletier) Fillion and her husband, Eugene, of Long Beach, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Priscilla Pelletier of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four brothers and their spouses and one sister, Lucien Pelletier and his wife, Dora, Omer Pelletier and his wife, Ida, Laurette Pelletier, Gerard Pelletier, and Lionel Pelletier and his wife, Jeanette.
