BETHEL – Top-ranked Telstar snapped a 2-2 tie with a 10-run outburst in the fifth inning to eliminate St. Dom’s 12-6 in the quarterfinals of the Western Class C softball playoffs.

The Rebels (15-0) took advantage of five walks and an error during the pivotal inning. Kayla Mills and Abby Hutchins had RBI singles during the inning, and Liz Rosenberg knocked in a run with a double. The Saints were hurt by three bases-loaded walks.

No. 8 St. Dom’s (12-5) fought back with two runs in the sixth on Laura Robitzek’s single. The Saints added two more in the seventh before catcher Rosenberg threw out a base runner trying to go to second on a play home.

Rosenberg also picked off two St. Dom’s runners at third base.

Oak Hill 3, Poland 2

WALES – Magan Blais had a triple and an RBI to lead fourth-seeded Oak Hill to a 3-2 win over No. 5 Poland in a Western B softball quarterfinal game.

Katie Simpson belted a two-run double to give the Knights (8-9) a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth, but the Raiders (9-8) rallied for a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning.

Danni Potvin picked up the win, while Kelli O’Connor was tagged with the loss.

Kaci Ford chipped in with a double for Poland.

Buckfield 12, Greenville 0

BUCKFIELD – Tiffany Dunn and Desiree Brackett had three hits each and Brackett tossed a one-hitter and fanned eight to power Buckfield to a 12-0 triumph over Greenville in the semifinals of the Western Class D softball playoffs.

The Bucks took charge in the first inning when Dunn tripled, Kacey Farrington reached on a single and Brackett followed with a two-run single. Dunn also had a double.

Buckfield (14-1) has only allowed seven runs in 15 games this spring, with four of them coming against Class C power Sacopee Valley.
