I understand that the name of the new elementary school on Park Avenue in Auburn has not yet been decided. I hope that suggestions are still welcome for consideration by the Auburn School Committee.
A name that I would recommend is one that would recognize the very well-regarded independent former governor of Maine whose vision for improved education brought Maine to the nation’s forefront with his plan for laptop computers.
In my opinion, this new school should be known as the Angus King Elementary School, and I encourage others of a like mind to contact their representative to the school committee.
