Blood drive

RUMFORD – The American Red Cross is searching for new blood donors to join experienced givers. A blood drive will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at the American Legion, 184 Congress St.

All donors can enter for a chance to win a pair of tickets to a Red Sox home game, recognition at the game and a special souvenir.

Women’s meeting

RUMFORD – The women of Stephens High School Class of 1948 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 15, at Sam’s. Those planning to attend should call Maddy at 364-7235.

Church supper

DIXFIELD – A lobster roll supper will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. (or until sold out) Thursday, June 15, at the Dixfield Congregational Church. Cost is adults, $7.50, and children under 12, $3.50. Chicken rolls will also be available for $5 and children, $2.50.

The menu will include a 100 percent lobster meat roll, potato salad, coleslaw, beverage and cake.

Takeout meals will also be available. Call ahead at 562-4582 or stop by.

Team on hiatus

RUMFORD – The River Valley Healthy Communities’ Youth Resource Team is taking a hiatus, although a Youth Resource Team Celebration is still being planned. Interest in the team has dwindled, and the grant has run out.

The Teen Scene will still be developed, and organizers are looking for steering committee members. Anyone interested is asked to call Stephanie Thompson at 364-7408 or [email protected]

House tour

BETHEL – The Bethel Historical Society will host its 2006 house tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 16 and 17.

The tour will feature nine Bethel homes. Luncheon will be served in the exhibit hall of the Dr. Moses Mason House from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.

Tickets will be available on the days of the tour and in advance at the society’s museum shop. Tickets are $20, which includes lunch and a descriptive flyer.

Open house

DIXFIELD – Mystic Valley Grange 313 in East Dixfield will hold an open house on Friday, June 16, to give a community service award to the East Dixfield Fire Department. A potluck supper will be held at 6:30 p.m. followed by a meeting and the program at 7:30. The public is welcome.

RUMFORD – Stephens High School Class of 1946 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 19, at River Valley Cafe on Exchange Street.

Collins aide visits

RUMFORD – A representative from Sen. Susan Collins’ Lewiston office will hold office hours from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, at the Rumford Town Office. The representative will be available to hear any constituents concerns that they might have and to provide assistance with federal issues an agencies.

Acadian Society

RUMFORD – The Rumford-Mexico Area Acadian Society will meet Thursday, June 15, at St. Athanasius, St. John’s Parish Center. There will be a potluck supper at 6 p.m. followed by the business meeting. There will be no meeting in July.

Les Amis de Conversasion will no longer meet on Thursdays at the Parish Center. They will continue to meet at a local restaurant on Tuesdays for lunch and French conversation.
