LEWISTON – A Taize service, patterned after those held at the Taize community in France, is being held monthly at Trinity Episcopal Church.
Trinity will host the contemplative, ecumenical service at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 18. Services will also be held July 16 and Aug. 20. All are welcome.
Trinity hosts several community programs, including the Trinity Jubilee Center, several AA and NA groups as well as a small worship community. The contemplative Taize service offers hospitality of a different sort, a stillness to balance the active life.
Trinity holds weekly Sunday services at 9 a.m., using the Book of Common Prayer Rite 2 service most Sundays, and an alternative, social justice/inclusive service on the fourth Sunday of the month.
Trinity is located at 247 Bates St., corner of Bates and Spruce Streets, with the church entrance on the Bates Street side. For more information, call 782-5700 and ask for the Rev. Larney Otis or Dell Gray.
