BUCKFIELD – By a vote of 174-156, residents decided to keep the traditional town meeting instead of marking up referendum ballots at a polling station.

Public hearings on the issue were well attended by people on both sides of the issue. The article placed on the warrant came as a result of Judy Berg presenting a petition before selectmen to offer the town an alternate way to hold town meetings.
