PERU – Residents voted 138-70 Tuesday to decide articles in the 2007 annual warrant by referendum ballot at the polls, not at an open town meeting.

Voters also authorized the Board of Selectmen to expend the amount appropriated for the last fiscal year if the appropriation proposed for the current fiscal year is not approved.

They also approved an amendment to the Shoreland Zoning Ordinance.
