HEMPHILL, Texas – Hazel Mildred Kelley Burwood, 75, died June 14, at her son’s home in Hemphill, Texas.

She was born on July 3, 1930, in Vienna, the daughter of the late Maurice Ray Kelley and Helen Estelle Ridley Kelley. She retired from Goldsboro Milling Co. in Goldsboro, N.C. She was also an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed all forms of crafts and needlework.

Survivors include two sisters, Marilyn Virginia Baker of Wilton and Doris Marie Young of Wilton; one daughter, Glenda Clatone (Andy) of Dudley, N.C.; two sons, Werner Burwood (Glenda) of Hemphill, Texas, and Gene Burwood (Stephanie) of Lakewood Ranch, Fla; six grandchildren, Jolie Lanae Vance (Josh) of Hemphill, Texas, Justen Maxel Burwood of Kilgore, Texas, Cayla Jean Dammann and Abigail Grace Burwood, of Lakewood Ranch, Fla., Kenny Boston (Dora) of Alabama and Christopher Michael Wise (Becca) of Pensacola, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Madisun Rayne Vance and Emma Gracyn Vance of Hemphill, Texas, and Skylar Wise of Pensacola, Fla.; along with several nieces, nephews and special friends.

She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Rodney P. Burwood; a sister, Priscilla Rose Kelley; and two brothers, Robert Lewis Kelly and Milton Ray Kelley.
