FARMINGTON – The Acadia Brass Ensemble will perform with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra in celebration of Kingfield POPS at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at Nordica Auditorium on the University of Maine campus.
The evening’s concert will feature “Salute to Broadway,” “Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Chevy Chase Rag” and “Carnival of Venice.”
As part of the mission of Kingfield POPS, Acadia Brass Ensemble visited Kingfield and Farmington area schools this year through the orchestra’s Know Your Orchestra! program.
Tickets for the Acadia Brass Ensemble event are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $5 for youth 17 and under. They may be purchased at Mickey’s Hallmark, Farmington; Tranten’s Store and Grand Central Station, Kingfield; and UnitedKingfield Bank branches in Farmington and Kingfield.
The Farmington concert kicks off the 4th Annual Kingfield POPS with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra to be held Saturday, July 1.
Kingfield POPS will begin at 10 a.m. with garden tours and craft fairs to be held around the Kingfield community.
Gates open at 5 p.m. on the Kennedy Farm, beginning with a performance by the Western Mountain Steel Drum Band, followed by a the internationally acclaimed Kruger Brothers.
Kingfield POPS with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra presents an evening of familiar and patriotic music for the whole family. In keeping with the holiday celebration, the evening will close with a fireworks display.
