Auburn – Eugene Francis Linehan, 73, of 14 Garcelon St., Lewiston, died Thursday, June 15, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care.
He was born in Lewiston, Feb. 24, 1933, the son of John P. and Addie Donahue Linehan. He was educated in Lewiston schools and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was married to Ruth Curran, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 9. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a pipefitter at Bath Iron Works. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Knights of Columbus Council 106, Disabled American Veterans Emilien Hamann Chapter and American Legion Post 22. He was a former Scout Master for Troup 122 and enjoyed raising pigeons, woodworking, gardening and oil painting.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Lewiston; a daughter, Rosalie Curtis and her husband, George, of Augusta; four sons, Peter and his wife, Sheri, of Shippensburg, Pa., Paul and his wife, Olive, of Gaffney, S.C., Patrick and his wife, Stacy, of Oakland and David and his wife, Nancy, of Lewiston; 10 grandchildren, Amanda Wood, Evan Nedick, Blaine, Brianna, Emily, Meghan, Erin, Laura Beth and Alexandra Linehan and Randy Brown; five sisters, Theresa Levesque and her husband, Marcel, of Westmont, Ill., Geraldine Varney of Lewiston, Marilyn Hecker and her husband, Ronald, of Lewiston, Margaret Davenport and her husband, David, of Cape Elizabeth and Constance Timberlake and her husband, Gary, of Lewiston.
He was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Parker; and a brother, John Linehan.
