I can’t believe anyone would write a letter such as the one from Melissa Noel, printed June 13, titled “Somalis should quietly adapt.” This is America, after all.
If Somalis feel they did not receive a proper explanation of events, yes, they have every right to protest.
If they feel that their reports of crimes are not taken seriously, yes, they have every right to complain.
Again, this is America.
I suggest people get a handle on the fear that creates racism and stop calling it anger.
Try a little tenderness.
