WINTHROP – Doris G. Lothrop, 94, of Winthrop, died Wednesday, June 14, at Winthrop Manor, where she had resided for nearly four years.

She was born July 10, 1911, in Augusta, a daughter of Fred and Susan (Turner) Hart. She received her education in Augusta schools, and in 1938 married Clifford Lothrop. He died in 1998.

For several years, she was employed at the Wilton Woolen Mill and later at Carlton Woolen Mill. She enjoyed fishing and hunting with her husband and also enjoyed sewing, working on jigsaw puzzles and was an avid Red Sox fan. A very special thanks to the staff of the Winthrop Manor for their compassionate care.

She is survived by a stepdaughter, Sara Frances Parlin and her husband, Lewis, of Wilton; a brother, Gilbert Turner and wife, Frances, of Sidney; a half-brother, Fred Turner of Chelsea; three grandchildren, Linda Taylor and her husband, Dennis, of Wilton, Peter Parlin and his wife, Kathy, of Vassalboro and Loanne Mosher and her husband, Reed, of Vicksburg, Miss; a special friend, Lila “Zenith” Sciuk of Winthrop; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford L. “Pete” Lothrop; brother, Gardner Turner; and sister, Carolyn Arnold.
