RUMFORD – The wedding of Heidi Cassandra Dawson and Allen Edmond Chartier was held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 11 at St. Athanasius-St. John Church. Deacon Rod Berger officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Chartier is the daughter of Edward and Lisa Dawson of Rumford. Mr. Chartier is the son of Jacques and Brenda Chartier of Mexico.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless gown with beaded bodice, laced up the back. She carried a bouquet of fuchsia Gerber daisies wrapped in white satin ribbon.

A sister of the bride, Gabrielle Dawson, was honor attendant, and bridesmaids were Erika Dawson and Julia Franck, cousins of the bride. Danielle Franck, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.

Performing the duties of best man was the father of the bridegroom, Jacques Chartier, and ushers were Michael Chartier, brother of the bridegroom, and Kyle Duguay, cousin of the bridegroom.

A reception followed at the Eagles Hall in Rumford, after which the couple went snowmobiling at the Gaspe Peninsula in Quebec, Canada. They are residing in Mexico.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Mountain Valley High School and a 2005 graduate of Kennebec Valley Community College with a degree in early childhood and special education. She is employed for Community Concepts at East Wilton Headstart.

The bridegroom is a 2001 graduate of Mountain Valley High School and a 2003 graduate of Eastern Maine Technical College with a degree in diesel/heavy equipment. He is employed as a logging mechanic for Nicols Brothers.
