In politics, term limits are inflicted on some elected representatives, but not all. There are some people in the U.S. Senate and House who have been in office for more than 30 years. Why are these people allowed to spend so many years in office? Why aren’t term limits in effect for those people?
Politics was not intended to be a long-term career for anyone, not even the president. I think it is past time to get the veteran lawmakers out of office, or abolish term limits for everyone. If term limits are to be in place, then they should apply to all politicians throughout the U.S., not just for some states.
I also feel the U.S. needs to abolish the Electoral College and give the power of the direct vote of the people to the people, and listen to who the people want for president.
