LEWISTON – Henrietta M.J. Marcoux, 76, of Lewiston, passed away on Saturday, June 17, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 23, 1929, in Lewiston, the daughter of Darius and Amelia Vachon Marcoux. She was educated in local schools. She was a telephone operator for New England Telephone, AT & T, and Verizon Telephone for 37 years. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, and served as a eucharistic minister.
She was a part of the Beta Sigma Pi International Society, Le Cercle D’Youville, L’ouvre de Saint Sacrement, and Lewiston Senior Citizens. She was also a member of the woman’s Maine State Golf Association, the Southern Maine Golf Association, and a member of the Prospect Golf Club. She was a semifinalist in WMSGA, and was also a champion three times at Martindale Country Club. She was asked to play with the pro golfers in Napier, NZ.
She is survived by a sister, Lucille Marcoux of Lewiston; two cousins, Adrien Lajoie and wife, Irene, of Lewiston and Jacquelyn Lajoie of Lewiston; and many friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Constance Goulet and husband, Ange Goulet.
