BETHEL – Sandra Kay Abbott, 63, of Bethel, died at her residence in Bethel on June 16, after a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 4, 1942, the daughter of Kenneth and Hilma (Holmes) Durgin. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Oxford High School and had worked at Gould Academy in housekeeping for many years. She was a good and kindhearted women and mother.

She is survived by one son, Michael McAllister of Norway; two daughters, Jennifer Mason and Joyce McAllister, both of Bethel; three brothers, Ray Durgin Sr. of Bethel, Leroy Durgin of South Paris and Dwayne Durgin of Sumner; four sisters, Rachel Fleck of South Paris, Charlotte Varney of Oxford, Shelia Daniels of Waterford and Cheryl Cabana of Oxford; five grandchildren, Crystal Mills, Shylo McAllister, Isaac McAllister, Kamdyn McAllister and Alex McAllister; and three sisters-in-law, Betty Jones of West Paris, Rebecca Stevens of South Paris and Mary Jane Ames of Gorham, N.H.
