Lewiston – Blanche S. Russell, 93, of Auburn died Monday, June 19, at d’Youville Pavilion with her family by her side.
She was born in Portland, July 17, 1912, the daughter of John and Barbara Jonkavich. She married Otho B. Russell in 1932.
She was a member of the Auburn Methodist Church, an accomplished upholsterer and devoted homemaker. She was active in her community, and absolutely adored her garden. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing the piano.
She is survived by her two sons, John N. Russell of Auburn and Otho B. Russell of New Gloucester; two grandchildren, Susan Russell Huff and her husband, Darryl, of Lewiston and Johnny O. Russell and his wife, Laurie, of Auburn; three great-grandchildren, Karissa Huff of Lewiston and Lily and Johnny Russell of Auburn; two sisters, Nellie Romano of South Portland and Laura Walker of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; three sisters; and two daughters-in-law.
