TURNER – Registration for summer classes through SAD 52 River Valley Adult and Community Education is under way.

The second session of Middle Eastern Dance will begin Wednesday, July 5, with classes in Turner from 11 a.m. to noon and in Greene in the evening. Participants can learn to play the piano with private 30- to 45-minute lessons for eight weeks starting July 6. All ages and any level from beginner to advanced are welcome.

A six-week beginner dog obedience class will start Monday, July 10. A condensed fast-paced English/language arts class will run July 10 through 21 in the afternoon and evening. Texts, videos and computers will be used.

Also starting on July 10 and will be a fast-paced intensive class that will focus on U.S. world history. Hands-on work and projects will be a major part of the course.

Students enrolled in the general science course starting July 10 will study the construction of the earth and universe. The class is for high school students looking to make up freshman science and individuals looking to apply for college.

Driver education classes will also begin July 10 and consist of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of driving. Students need to bring their original birth certificate to the first class. Registration and payment arrangements can be made through Karen’s Driving School. A second series of classes will start July 31.

A seven-week babysitter training class will start July 10. It will teach the responsibilities of a sitter, how to supervise the play of infants and toddlers, and how to feed, dress and change infants. Students will also be instructed in American Red Cross infant and child CPR.

Tumbling camp will begin Wednesday, July 12, for five weeks, and students will enhance their coordination, strength, balance and flexibility while improving and refining tumbling skills. The instructor is safety USA gymnastics certified. Morning classes will be held in Greene and evening classes in Turner.

Day math will be held July 17 through Aug. 4, geared for high school students who have not passed high school math during the academic school year. Upon completion of the course, students will receive one high school credit. There will also be an evening math class open to post-secondary and adult education diploma students.

Youngsters ages 5 to 13 can explore, imagine and create during a week of hands-on art projects. Work will be done with paint, paper, clay and other materials during summer art youth camp from July 24 through 28.

On Thursday, July 27, there will be a one-night class to learn how to make quick and easy pioneer scrap dolls. Everything will be provided.

The Major League Soccer Camp for boys and girls ages 5 through 18 will be held July 31 through Aug. 4. The program offers more than 30 years of soccer camp experience. Coaches are licensed and trained in first aid and many of them are from the British Isles. All campers will receive a personal camp evaluation, ball and T-shirt.
