GREENE – Proposals to replace the IGA store on Route 202 and create residential subdivisions on River and North Grey roads will be presented at hearings Tuesday, June 27.

An application to build a 20,000-square-foot store behind the current facility was submitted to the Planning Board by owner Paul Bussiere. The old store will remain operational until the new one is ready. Moving the store farther back from the highway will allow for 111 parking spaces.

Country Meadow Estates subdivision consists of 14 lots. Planning Board Chairwoman Debbie Dupuis said a representative of the Valentine family, owner and developer, is expected to be present.

Moonlight Ridge subdivision is for five lots, according to applicant Doug Ellison.

“The hearing is basically a chance for abutters to comment on the projects that are being proposed,” Dupuis said. “It is an opportunity for them to be heard, but it won’t necessarily affect the Planning Board applications.”

The hearing starts at 6 p.m. in the basement of the town office followed by a 6:30 p.m. Planning Board meeting. The board plans to meet July 11 after reviewing the applications to see if any further issues or concerns need to be addressed.
