VFW meeting
LEWISTON – The Longley-Dionne VFW Post 9150 will meet at noon Sunday, June 25, at the Lewiston Lodge of Elks, 1675 Lisbon St.

Exercise class
LEWISTON – HealthSteps at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center has announced its Exercise for People with Arthritis class, designed for individuals with rheumatic disease who are limited by impaired joint motion and/or strength.
The course will teach breathing and relaxation techniques; introduce activities to promote body awareness, posture, balance and coordination; incorporate exercises to improve body mechanics, range of motion, strength and endurance; and offer practical tips for self-care and better health.
Classes will be held from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 27 to Aug. 3, at the Lepage Large Conference Room, 99 Campus Ave. The cost is $22 for non-core members of HealthSteps.

Grange trip
WINTHROP – Winthrop Grange 209 will go on its annual supper mystery ride on Tuesday. Members and friends will meet at the Grange Hall from where they will leave at 5 p.m.
Going to Florida
LEWISTON – As members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks from across the country gather in Orlando, Fla., from July 9 to 13 for the 142nd National Grand Lodge Convention, Exalted Ruler Joyce Strand of the Lewiston Elks Lodge 371 will vote on key issues facing the order and elect its national leaders. Strand is a resident of Brunswick.

Support program
LEWISTON – The Prostate Cancer Support Group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, in Room C at the 12 High Street Medical Office Building.
Wives, significant others and family members are welcome to attend. An educational presentation will be made during the first 20 to 30 minutes of the meeting, and will include a question-and-answer session.
Following the educational program, there will be two separate meetings: one for the prostate cancer patients, the other for wives, significant others and family members.

Basket workshop
NEW GLOUCESTER – Participants will make a hanging herb basket at a workshop on Saturday, July 15, at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, Route 26. The reed basket will be made on a frame and will measure 13 inches when completed.

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on June 20 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, Ron Reynolds and Ray Sirois; second, David Lock and Lucille Theriault; third, Jeanine Kivus and Rosemarie Goodwin; fourth, Fred Letourneau and Martine Begert; fifth, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn.
Flight B winners were: first, Charlie Bartlett and Roger Briggs; second, Richard Allen and Richard Balian. Flight C winners were Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner. Another game will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, at the center.
