INDIANAPOLIS – Recent Bates College graduate Keelin Godsey finished 18th in the U.S. women’s hammer throw Friday at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships.

Godsey’s top throw was 194 feet and 6 inches, nearly 12 feet from the NCAA Division III record of 206 feet and 5 inches he set at the NCAA championships in May.

Jessica Cosby won the event with a top throw of 235 feet and 3 inches.

Godsey’s former Bates teammate, Liz Wanless, will compete at the meet in the shot put on Sunday.
