WOODSTOCK – James “Dusty” Chapman, 51, of Woodstock, died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 21.
He was born in Brevard, N.C., on Aug. 8, 1954, the son of James L. and Anna (Garren) Chapman.
Dusty worked as a road truck driver, heavy equipment operator and tile and hardwood floor installer. He was presently employed by Gendron & Gendron.
Dusty loved drag racing in “slow motion.”
He is survived by his wife Nancy (Cook) Chapman of Woodstock; his stepmother, Freda Jo Chapman; two sons, James R. Chapman Jr. and Sonny Lee Chapman; one daughter, Melissa Jane Trester; one brother, Mickey Ray Chapman; two sisters, Vicki Diana Pelfrey and Crystal Reese; two stepsons, Joshua Fogg and Benjamin Fogg; two stepdaughters, Jessica Morin and Rachel Fogg; and six grandchildren, as well as his faithful friend, J.D.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Herman Carol Chapman.
