LISBON – A 49-year-old Lisbon woman, Laurie Diggins, was being held at the Androscoggin County Jail Saturday without bail following an early morning incident on Upland Road.
According to Officer Ryan McGee, Diggins, who was “highly intoxicated,” drove around several large Road Closed signs and a concrete barrier early Saturday morning, finally coming to a stop when her car became mired in mud. The road had been closed by the Maine Department of Transportation while the Barker Brook bridge is being replaced.
She was arrested at 6:20 a.m. by Officer McGee on charges of operating under the influence (second offense) and violation of bail conditions, and was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail.
According to a jail spokesman, she is being held without bail on the violation-of-bail charge, while bail was set at $500 cash on the OUI charge.
