Kid’s celebration
LIVERMORE FALLS – Last week’s rain forced the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church to move its kid’s celebration to Saturday, July 1. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is for children ages 2 through 10. There will be a bounce house, a puppets show, games, cotton candy, popcorn, hot dogs and prizes. There is no cost. Church program
WILTON – New Life Drama Company will perform at Calvary Hill Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 12. The public is welcome.
Parade theme
STRONG – A parade will be held on Saturday, July 1, starting at 10 a.m. on North Main Street. The parade theme is Strong, The Good Old Days! Prizes of $100, $75 and $25 will be given. A ceremony and community recognition awards will take place after the parade at the fire station near the Sandy River Bridge. A chicken barbecue is planned at noon at the fire station.
Alliance meeting
WELD – The Tumbledown Conservation Alliance annual meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 13, at the Weld Town Office, 23 Mill St., in the same building as the post office.
The agenda includes a discussion on whether the group should become a sponsor for the 2006 Maine Mountain Conference on Oct. 21 at Saddleback Ski Lodge, defining a trail project to do, deciding how to deal with the misuse of land and unauthorized trail clearing and other topics.

Fest needs help
LIVERMORE FALLS – This year the Apple/Pumpkin Festival, sponsored by the Jay-Livermore-Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce, will be held in the Gazebo Park area and on the recreation field in Livermore Falls on Sept. 30.
The festival will include a activities, educational and entertaining displays and demonstrations for all members of the family.
There will also be crafters and vendors. Organizers would like to see local groups get involved and offer baking contests, pumpkin and apple growing contests, pumpkin painting contests and games for all ages.
