JAY – Police Chief Larry White announced Friday that the Fourth of July parade and fireworks will go on as usual, regardless of Livermore Falls’ budgetary woes.
“The chief of the neighboring town (Livermore Falls) suggested there might not be a parade,” White said Friday. “There is going to be a parade, and the fireworks are going to go off as usual. The town of Jay is going to continue with its parade and fireworks as usual.”
The parade is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on Monday, July 3. White said it “usually lasts anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes.” The fireworks are scheduled to begin at dusk.
