LEWISTON – Francis “Frank” E. Cayer, 67, of 44 Fellow Farm Road, North Fayette, and of 16 Eustis St., Lewiston died Saturday, June 24, at Central Maine Medical Center after a long illness.

He was born in Queens, N.Y., on March 11, 1939, the son of Roland H. and Evelina (Ouellette) Cayer and had been a resident of this community and of Fayette since 1993.

He served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 15 years. He was a self-employed general contractor for many years and then was employed at Pioneer Plastics, until his retirement in 1992. Frank enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Horizon 55.

He is survived by his fiance, Evelina Pouzol of Lewiston; and her children and grandchildren; four sons, Jeffrey D. Cayer and his wife, Krista, of Oxford, Matthew S. Cayer and his wife, Sara, of Auburn, Armand E. Cayer and his wife, Angela, of Wantage, N.J. and Loren F. Cayer and his fiance, Lisa Goudreau, of Lewiston; three brothers, Ronald Cayer and his wife, Gilmay, of Lewiston, Albert Cayer and his wife, Roberta, of Springfield, Mass. and Ernest Cayer and his wife, Shirley, of Long Meadow, Mass.; three sisters, Rolande Eback and her husband, Norm, of Maryland, Angelina Maheux and her companion, Ted Jamrock, of Chicopee, Mass. and Dolores Maheux and her husband, Robert, of Springfield, Mass.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one daughter, Celeste Anne Cayer.
