PORTLAND – Ronald L. Kimball, a vice president and manager of Information Security in the Risk Management Department at TD Banknorth Inc. in Falmouth, was named a finalist for the Information Security Executive of the Year Award for New England.

The Information Security Executive of the Year Award recognizes leadership, exemplary achievement and excellence in managing enterprisewide information security programs. The individuals selected for recognition play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of company and customer data across all industries in New England.

Kimball, a native of Auburn and resident of Naples, was selected as a finalist by a panel of judges comprised of senior information security executives from across the country.

At a recent awards ceremony in Boston, presenters noted his achievements as the information security manager at TD Banknorth since 2001, including developing innovative security solutions with consideration for business challenges, motivating and building a strong team, and effectively managing and executing security strategies.

Kimball joined TD Banknorth in 2001 and has 12 years of experience in finance with the U.S. Air Force. He holds designation as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional with ISC2.

He is a 1990 graduate of Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas, and a 1979 graduate of Edward Little High School.
