LISBON – The Lisbon Post Office provides outstanding service to its customers. But it took a formal survey by the Gallup Organization to document just how good it really is.

According to Gallup, customers rate Lisbon’s postal employees worthy of the five-star customer service award for efficiency and delivery consistency. The Lisbon Post Office is one of 29 to be honored throughout the District of Maine. But Lisbon excelled even within that group, receiving the highest customer rating out of 423 post offices in the state.

“I have a team of 27 outstanding employees who understand the importance of good customer service and on-time delivery,” said Lisbon Postmaster Donna Jude.

“Being recognized by your customers is a great honor,” Post Office Operations Manager Randy Michaud told Lisbon employees at a recent awards ceremony to mark Gallup’s results. “Providing them with excellent service is what our job is all about.”

The survey showed that clerks at both the Lisbon Post Office and its satellite office in Lisbon Falls worked efficiently, valued customers’ time, held their waiting time in line to under five minutes, and provided all the information needed for customers to complete their tasks. Letter carriers delivered mail to the correct address at about the same time every day.

The postal service awarded all Lisbon employees with service pins symbolizing their commitment to their customers.
