LEWISTON – A tentative agreement between the University of Maine System and the union representing its professional staff featured on Tuesday’s A2 incorrectly described changes in the amount members will pay for their health insurance if the contract is accepted. The percentage of the premiums that employees will pay would increase 1.5 percent a year for the two-year life of the contract. But because the actual premiums are also increasing, union president Kerry Sullivan said, employees would see their costs increase by about 20 percent in the first year. The information was incorrectly reported by the Sun Journal.
