LEWISTON – The Timothy J. Mynahan Foundation has announced the TJM Scholarship recipient for 2006. The $2,500 scholarship has been awarded to Daniel J. Cloutier, a 2006 graduate of Lewiston High School.
Criteria for selection of the scholarship are based on academic and athletic excellence and commendable leadership ability.
Cloutier is a three-sport varsity athlete participating in golf, ice hockey and baseball. As team captain for varsity golf, he achieved notable athletic and leadership excellence. His extraordinary ability earned him the distinction of being named to the Power Bilt National High School Golf Coaches All-Section Team and All-American Team.
He further achieved the distinction of being named to the All-Conference All-Academic Golf Team and recipient of the Most Valuable Player Award for Varsity Golf. His leadership and athletic ability was recognized by induction into the Sports Done Right Leadership Academy.
Cloutier also distinguished himself by achieving academic excellence throughout his high school years. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and recipient of the President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement.
He has also demonstrated a strong sense of community involvement as a volunteer for area youth softball, hockey and golf athletic programs.
Cloutier is attending the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston in the fall. He is the son of John Cloutier and Marie Higgins of Lewiston.
