GRAY – Brady Blackman ripped an RBI single to kick off a three-run first inning as New Auburn cruised to a 4-1 victory over Gray in American Legion baseball action Thursday.

After Blackman’s hit plated a runner, New Auburn put two more on the board on a fielding error by Gray. NAL added an insurance run in the fifth to seal the win. Derek Doucette hurled a complete game and picked up the win.

Matt Moberg smacked an RBI single in the seventh inning to tally the lone run for Gray (3-3). Starting pitcher Jared Dunn was tagged with the loss after that damaging first inning.

Smith-Tobey 5, Gilman Electrical 0

POLAND – Nick Cloutier and Chris Kates banged out RBI singles to lead Smith-Tobey to a 5-0 shutout victory over Gilman Electrical in an American Legion game Thursday.

Steve Hall pitched a two-hit game with only one walk to earn the win. Steve May led Smith-Tobey at the plate with two hits on the day, while Josh Clark ripped an RBI double.
