FARMINGTON – Wilmer H. “Bim” Willauer, 92, of Industry died early Wednesday, June 28, at the Sandy River Center for Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

He was born Sept. 1, 1914, in Richmond Township, Pa., the son of Charles H. and Harriet M. (Hendricks) Willauer. He was a graduate of Penn State University with an associate degree in engineering.

Bim enjoyed a full life as a business owner, parttime farmer, voracious reader, traveler and parent. He was also active in numerous community activities including school board, Sertoma International, Masons and the Starks Chapter of the Grange. He was vice president and part-owner of Willauer Machine Co., manufacturers of Quakermade Poultry Equipment. During his career in manufacturing, he also developed several innovations that were later patented. He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army in France during World War II.

He particularly enjoyed tending to his flock of sheep, gardening and taking family movies. Traveling with his wife of 60 years, Geraldine Rinker Willauer, birdwatching and politics, were also some of his interests. She predeceased him on Sept. 27, 2005.

He is survived by his son, Dick Willauer and his partner, Sharon Arsenault, of Industry; his sister, Ruth Knauss of Quakertown, Pa.; his three grandchildren, Stephanie Harris of Lawrence, Kan., Brian Collins of Bristol and Lissa Niederer of Augusta; and one great-grandson, Matthias Niederer.
