FARMINGTON – David Taylor Donald, 81, of North Jay died early Friday morning, June 30, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.
He was born on April 11, 1925, in North Jay, a son of John and Ina Donald Sr. He received his education in Jay schools and served several years in the National Guard.
In 1952, he married Beryl Webster on the family farm in North Jay.
He was employed at Norwock Shoe for many years and also sold apples on the corner of Route 4 and the Lake School Road in North Jay for Trask Orchard.
He enjoyed his family and his farm, and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Beryl, of North Jay; a son, James, and his wife, Patty, of North Jay; four granddaughters, Michelle Parlin of Benton, Kimberly Dustin of Wilton, Kristina Tweed and her husband, Sean, of Lakewood, Colo., and Amy Walston and her husband, Aaron, of Rumford; six great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons and two step-great-grandsons; two sisters, Fanny Koljonen and her husband, David, of Livermore, and Evelyn Durrell and her husband, Phil, of Jay; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Stephen Donald; and three brothers, John Jr., George and Alex.
